All our "GES" Insulated Glass Units are Manufactured With Super Spacer®.

Key Benefits

  • Increased R value and overall performance.
  • Outstanding durability.
  • Highest condensation resistance.
  • Reduced sound transmission.
  • Attractive appearance.
  • "GES" = Greater Energy Savings.

IG (Insulated Glass) units are made of two, three or even four pieces of glass with an air space between each lite of glass.  In the early 1990's our company began manufacturing IG units with Super Spacer®, by Edgetech.  Super Spacer® is a silicone foam design spacer which is non-conductive, unlike aluminum or steel spacers.  With this warm edge system, IG units can outperform metal edged units by approximately 30 %.  A double glazed IG unit with a metal spacer offers an R2 in the center of the glass, but only an R1 at the edge of the unit.  Our Super Spacer® system offers an R2 overall performance, with no loss of R value at the edge of the IG Unit.  Performance improves with the use of Low E glass and also by filling the air space with argon gas.  An IG unit made with one clear lite, two Low E lites and argon gas filled air spaces will have an overall performance of R6.  The use of argon gas in the air space can be used to increase the R value and also to cut down sound transmission.  Most types of glass can be combined in the making of IG units.
